Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi

Hoem Kiem Lake, Hanoi

Arrive in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. Check into your hotel.

Go on explore the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, and Ngoc Son Temple. Old Quarter used to be the residential, manufacturing and commercial center, where each street was specialized in one specific type of manufacturing or commerce.

Hoem Kiem Lake is one of the famous landmarks of Hanoi. It has a rich history and it looks beautiful. Right in the centre of this serene lake is Ngoc Son Temple. The temple is dedicated to General Tran Hung Dao (who defeated the Mongols in the 13th century), La To (patron saint of physicians) and the scholar Van Xuong.

Enjoy traditional Vietnamese street food for dinner. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi City Tour

Ho Chi Minh Mausolem, Hanoi

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, go on to explore Hanoi. Start with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a mausoleum which serves as the resting place of Vietnamese revolutionary leader and President Ho Chi Minh.

Later, go on to explore Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House, a simple stilt home which was once the residence of Ho Chi Minh.

Visit One Pillar Pagoda afterwards. This is a historic Buddhist Temple known for its unique architectural structure. It looks like a lotus flower,  also the national flower of Vietnam. The pagoda is in a lake with a square structure lying on a stone pillar.

Also, explore the Temple of Literature and the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. Towards evening, go for the famous water puppet show, a unique of Vietnam.

Day 3: Halong Bay

Check out from the hotel after breakfast. Drive to Halong Bay, a drive of nearly four hours.

Day 4: Halong Bay to Hanoi

Day 5: Hanoi – Hue

Visit the Imperial City, Thien Mu Pagoda, a historic temple in the city of Hue. This is one of the most fascinating and ancient pagoda in Hue. It is situated on Ha Khe hill, on the north bank of the Perfume River, in Huong Long village, 5 kilometers from Hue.

Later, enjoy a boat ride on the Perfume River.

Have a nice dinner. Overnight in Hue.

Day 6: Hue to Hoi An

Japanese Covered Bridge, Hoi An, Vietnam

Check out from the hotel after your breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Hoi An via Hai Van Pass. This is a drive of around 2.5 hours. Check into a hotel on arriving in Hoi An.

Go on to explore the charming ancient town, known for its well-preserved architecture. Merchants from China, Japan and later Europe settled in Hoi An from the 15th to 19th centuries, creating a unique architectural fusion.

Visit Japanese Covered Bridge, Tan Ky ancestral house, and Phuc Kien Assembly Hall. Explore local markets, and lantern-lit streets in the evening. Enjoy a lovely dinner in Hoi An, which is also known to serve some amazing delicacies.

Day 7: Hoi An

An Bang Beach, Hoi An, Vietnam

Get up early in the morning and enjoy a hearty breakfast. Go on to explore some more of Hoi An.

Take a bike ride to the countryside and explore nearby villages. Participate in a cooking class to learn to prepare traditional dishes popular in Hoi An.

Later, head to An Bang Beach, just a 10-minute drive from the Ancient Town. Enjoy wonderful seafood lunch, sandy stretches and cool waves on the beach. Enjoy your afternoon relaxing at An Bang Beach. You can just read your books lying down on beach blankets. Do not forget to bring your swimsuits. You also have the option to board a boat to the pristine shores of the Cham Islands.

Return to your hotel and after some rest, you can enjoy a nice dinner. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 8: Hoi An – My Son and Da Nang

Enjoy your breakfast in the morning and set out to visit My Son Sanctuary,  a UNESCO World Heritage site. Situated some 40 kilometres from Hoi An, this site is tucked into a valley near a shaded stream.

These temples, now in ruined state, were built between 7th and 13th Century by the Cham people.

From My Son, continue to visit Da Nang, a coastal city known for its sandy beaches and history as a French colonial port. It is still one of the most important port cities of Vietnam.

Visit Marble Mountains on reaching Da Nang. This is a collection of five outcrops topped with atmospheric pagodas. Explore the hidden caves, and admire ancient shrines.

Explore Cham Museum of Sculpture, which houses the largest collection of Cham sculpture in the world. Afterwards, go on to enjoy the beautiful beach.

Da Nang is a dream destination for foodies, with a number of seafront eateries and street food stalls. Enjoy the food here. Return to your hotel in Hoi An after a hectic but wonderful day out.

Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Have a hearty breakfast in the morning and check out from the hotel. Head to the airport and catch flight to Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon. On arrival, check into a hotel in Ho Chi Ming City.

Go on to visit the War Remnants Museum, Reunification Palace, and the Notre-Dame Cathedral.

War Remnants is a three-story museum holding countless artefacts and graphic photographs. Out-of-commission planes, tanks, bombs and helicopters decorate the courtyard.

Notre Dame Cathedral is a twin-spired Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. This was built entirely from materials imported from France, and the construction of the cathedral lasted nearly two decades, from 1863 to 1880.

Reunification Palace, also known as the Independence Palace, is a palatial estate which was once the residential and administrative quarters of the President of South Vietnam.

Ben Thanh Market, Ho Chi Minh City

Later, go on to explore Ben Thanh Market. The market is located in the centre of the city. It is a timeless marketplace built atop a reclaimed plot of land which was formerly known as Bo Ret Pond.

This indoor market faces Quach Thi Trang Square, and inside, a matrix of aisles sells everything – from fresh produce to conical hats, weasel coffee to lacquerware.

Enjoy the bustling nightlife of Ho Chi Minh City. Have a lovely dinner at one of the restaurants.

Day 10: Mekong Delta – Departure

Have a nice breakfast and check out from the hotel. Keep your luggage at the hotel.
